The battle of Waterloo took place on June 18, 1815, in Belgium, twenty kilometers south of Brussels, in the current province of Walloon Brabant. This battle pitted the French army, known as the Armée du Nord, led by Emperor Napoleon I, against the Allied army, led by the Duke of Wellington and composed of British, German (Hanover, Brunswick and Nassau contingents) and Dutch (Belgian and Dutch units) troops, joined by the Prussian army commanded by Marshal Blücher.https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bataille_de_Waterloo
