The Capitole is a monument in the French city of Toulouse, which today houses the city hall and the Capitole theater. Its construction was decided by the Capitouls in 1190, in order to establish the seat of municipal power. It has been the emblem of the city and the seat of municipal power for over eight centuries. The Capitole is surrounded by Place du Capitole to the west, Rue de la Pomme and Rue du Poids de l'Huile to the south, Square Charles-de-Gaulle and Rue Ernest Roschach to the east and Rue Lafayette to the north. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitole_de_Toulouse
