The history of the Order of Tiron began more than 900 years ago in the forest of Perche where Bernard of Abbeville founded his monastery. Numerous faithful flocked to the Abbey of the Holy Trinity of Tiron, and the Order of Tiron was born. Very soon the reputation of the monks of Tiron was such that King David I of Scotland with the support of his brother-in-law, King Henry I Beauclerc of England, invited the grey monks of Tiron to Scotland to build some of the most important abbeys in Scotland. The Order of Tiron then experienced a dazzling apogee with more than a hundred priories and twenty abbeys throughout the northwestern part of France, England, Ireland and Scotland.Price
