This token represents the birth house of Etienne de la Boétie built between 1520 and 1525. It is the only house in Sarlat built according to the principles of the Florentine Renaissance. The house was classified as a historical monument in 1899. One can also see on the token the three geese of the bronze statue that can be found on the Place du Marché aux oies and that was offered by an industrial producer of fois gras. The goose is a symbol of the Dordogne because it represents an important part of its commercial activity.
