Comment

The Saïmiri, also called squirrel monkey or sapajou, has a grey to olive green fur with black and golden hues. Its characteristic small round head has a white eye mask and a black muzzle. This is why the Germans call it the "little monkey with a skull".
They lived in troops of 30 to 70 members, some of which included several hundred individuals. Numerous scouts make it easy to find food. Scouts detect the presence of predators (raptors) and utter high-pitched cries in case of imminent danger.
