Comment

Avenue des Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe.
This is a famous avenue in Paris.
It begins at Place de la Concorde, where the Obelisk stands, and stretches 1,910 meters from east to west, on flat ground in the first half, then uphill to Place Charles-de-Gaulle (formerly Place de l'Étoile, at the top of the Chaillot mound), at the center of which is the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile. Its width is seventy meters.
Originally, the Champs-Élysées were nothing more than uninhabited marshland. In 1616, Marie de Médicis decided to build a long tree-lined avenue along the Seine: the Cours la Reine.
