A variant of the Loire barges, "fûtreaux" (with or without a cabin) and oyster boats, and smaller than the gabare with a pointed bow, the "toue" is a flat boat with a wide bow and a shallow draught (to easily dock on the banks of the Loire). It was used as a ferry or fishing boat to navigate on the Loire and its tributaries (the longest river in France) between the Loire estuary at the mouth of the Atlantic Ocean, near Nantes, and Nevers or Digoin in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. It is originally equipped with a mast for sailing, and usually with a cabin (floating cabin, called cabanee). https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toue_caban%C3%A9e
