The Pyramid of Cheops, a monument built by the ancient Egyptians, forms a square-based pyramid of 230 m on each side and 137 m in height (or originally 440 on each side and 280 in height in Egyptian royal cubits). Presumed to be the tomb of Pharaoh Cheops, it was built more than 4,500 years ago, in the center of the funerary complex of Cheops located in Giza, Egypt. If it is the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world to have survived until today, it is also the oldest. The Great Pyramid, the masterpiece of the Old Kingdom of Egypt by the architect Hemiunu, is the concentration and culmination of all the architectural techniques developed since the creation of monumental stone architecture by Imhotep for the pyramid of his ruler Djoser, in Saqqara.
