La Boisserie which was the residence of General de Gaulle, located in Colombey-les-Deux-Églises.General de Gaulle had chosen this charming little house for the calm, comfort and serenity it offered. His daughter Anne was particularly fond of it, until her death in February 1948.
General de Gaulle, elected President of the French Republic, did not want to live in the Élysée. However, he ended up living in the presidential palace, but spent a lot of time and all his weekends with his family in Colombey. In 1969, the General resigned and gave power to the president of the Senate Alain Poher. He then retired to his house, with his wife. He lived there until his death on November 9, 1970.
