Château de Montrottier is an ancient 13th-century fortified house, altered several times and restored in the 19th century. It stands in the commune of Lovagny in the Haute-Savoie department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, a dozen kilometers west of Annecy, near the Fier gorges.The donjon, the corps de logis des Chevaliers and the tour de la Religieuse are listed as historic monuments by decree of September 1, 1919; the grounds surrounding the château are listed by decree of January 5, 1935; the farm and buildings comprising the château, with the exception of the listed parts, are partially listed by decree of November 3, 1987.
