The Magic Carpet, opened in 1992, resembles an imaginary organ, a bouquet of optical fibers playing an ever-renewed symphony, translucent or reflective, symbolizing communication.The building required five kilometers of tubing, divided into 217 pipes ranging from two to 35 meters in height and 116 cm in diameter. At night, 34 spotlights suspended from the top of the tubes create green and blue light effects. Lamps with a life of 6,000 hours diffuse white light; glass filters color the tubes. The total height of the building is 60 metres, of which 20 metres are underground.
The building includes an Imax cinema with two giant flat screens, the only double Imax cinema in the world. It consists of two superimposed spaces, separated by a glass floor.
