This token represents the façade of the Château de Grignan. The architecture of Château de Grignan still bears traces of its medieval origins. Over the centuries, the château has undergone many architectural changes to become a true pleasure residence, culminating in the 17th century. Today, it stands as a fine example of Renaissance architecture in south-eastern France. The south facade and two facades of the well courtyard are exemplary. They are hierarchical and sculptural: large mullioned windows, wall decorations and friezes regularly punctuate their layout.
Not all the exterior architecture is in the Renaissance style: the third facade in the well courtyard, housing the ceremonial gallery, has been preserved in its Gothic style.
