Comment

The castle, whose existence probably dates back to the 10th century, was one of the defense points of the Cathar country. After its capture in 1255, it became part of the defense system of the French border with Aragon. The annexation of Roussillon by France (Treaty of the Pyrenees, 1659), which pushes the border to the Pyrenees, strongly reduces its strategic importance. The castle deteriorated until 1951, when it was gradually restored. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau_de_Qu%C3%A9ribus
