We enter Langeais via an authentic drawbridge! Langeais is in fact a castle with two faces, a medieval entrance facade, a Renaissance style garden facade. In the French gardens, the keep, a Romanesque main tower, built by Foulques Nerra, also evokes the importance of this castle whose role was long defensive, before becoming, during the Renaissance, a pleasure castle.
