Château de Châteaudun is a castle built between the 12th and 15th/16th centuries, on a rocky spur overlooking the town of Châteaudun and the River Loir, in the Eure-et-Loir département of France. The keep, the oldest building, was built around 1180 by Thibaut V, Count of Blois. Jean de Dunois (1402-1468), bastard son of Louis I d'Orléans and companion of Joan of Arc, who received the château as a reward for freeing his half-brother Charles d'Orléans, a prisoner of the English, transformed it into a residence by adding a Gothic-style main building and chapel. A second Renaissance wing was added in the 17th century. The perfectly preserved château is managed by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux and is protected as a historic monument. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Château_de_Châteaudun
