The church rests on one of the largest crypts in France, which serves as its foundation and which can be visited. The crypt dates from the 12th century and was rediscovered during reconstruction work. A treasure of sacred art is preserved there, of which the reliquary of the Holy Blood, offered in 1308 by Philippe le Bel, constitutes the most remarkable piece. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basilique_Notre-Dame-de-l%27Immacul%C3%A9e-Conception_de_Boulogne-sur-Mer
