D-Day, the first day of the Battle of Normandy (Operation Overlord), pitting German Wehrmacht forces (and their auxiliary troops) against Allied SHAEF landing troops, was an operation on the beaches of Normandy in occupied France, scheduled for June 5, 1944, but finally postponed to Tuesday, June 6, due to weather conditions. This military operation, dubbed Neptune, was one of the major operations in history, both in terms of its complications and the scale of the resources deployed. The idea of a military operation was first mooted in 1942, but organization didn't begin until January 1944. General Dwight D. Eisenhower was put in charge of setting up the operation.https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jour_Jhttps://dday-experience.com/espaces-exterieurs/
