The Forville market, in its current structure, is the work of the Draconian architect Henri Bret, in 1929, replacing an old market, dating from 1884, whose hall was wooden. The choice of the architect was the result of a competition. Supervised by the construction company "Lisnard & Rance", the reconstruction work lasted 3 years, for an inauguration in 1932.
The building was certified by the Regional Commission for Heritage and Sites on November 28, 2000. It also obtained the "20th Century Heritage" label. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/March%C3%A9_Forville
