Excalibur is the legendary magic sword of King Arthur, the king of the Bretons, in the texts of the Arthurian legend of the matter of Brittany written in the Middle Ages.Some consider Excalibur and the Sword of the Rock (proof of Arthur's lineage) to be one and the same weapon, but in most versions of the legend they are indeed two separate swords.
Excalibur has the reputation of being unbreakable and of cutting through any material. Its scabbard protects its bearer from any injury. King Arthur, holding both artifacts, was therefore invincible on the battlefield.
