Designed by architect Jacques Rougerie, Océanopolis opened its doors in 19902. The primary aim was to provide a showcase for marine sciences through the temperate pavilion. Brest is home to 60% of Europe's marine research. Completely refurbished in 2000 with the addition of the polar and tropical pavilions, Océanopolis offers a scientific approach to the marine environment in its entirety. To achieve this, some fifty aquariums, ranging from 50 to 1,000,000 liters for the shark tank, are available to the public. In addition to the tanks, various media (video, interactive terminals, panels, etc.) provide additional information on the biology of species, environmental protection, ecosystem functioning, etc. https://fr. wikipedia.org/wiki/Oc%C3%A9anopolis
