The Saint-Etienne de Cahors cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral, located in Cahors, in the Lot department, in the Occitanie region. Built from the 12th century, it is one of the largest French buildings with domes on pendentives and mixes Romanesque and Gothic elements (choir).It houses the Holy Headdress, a relic that would have wrapped the head of Christ during his burial.
This cathedral is classified as a historical monument by the list of 1862. It is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Pilgrimage Route to Santiago de Compostela in France since 1998.
In 2020, a new order of classification as a historical monument will replace the previous mentions.
