Comment

The Ghuznee medal was issued for participation in the storming of the fortress of Ghuznee in Afghanistan that took place from July 21st to 23rd, 1839, during the First Anglo-Afghan War. After the conflict, these medals were ordered to be struck by Shuja Shah Durrani to show his appreciation of the British forces that helped him restore his throne.
