A limited number were initially minted in brass to commemorate the 1966 opening of the Bloor/Danforth subway line. In 1974 this new design was used in aluminium to supplement the original issue. In November 2006 a bimetallic issue was created to fend off counterfeiting problems, replacing the 30 million tokens in circulation.Price
