Comment

Jean-Pierre-Casimir Marcassus, Baron de Puymaurin.
Appointed Director of the Royal Mint of Medals on May 1, 1816, it was he who proposed and had adopted the inscription on Louis XVI's expiatory monument. Shortly afterwards, he had his eldest son succeed him in all matters relating to the active service of this job, and had him awarded the Cross of the Legion of Honor. (Wikipedia)
