This is a crude copy of the official medal by Natter. There are slight variations in the punctuation on the obverse and reverse and there are two roses at the end of the reverse legend; they were made for sale on the streets at the time of the ceremony. (Brown)

George married Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz fourteen days earlier (at the Chapel Royal, St. James's Palace, with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Secker, officiating).
