The province of Alberta was created from a piece of the North-West Territories in 1905. On the 50th, 75th, and 100th anniversary of this event, medallions were produced by the provincial government and given to every student currently enrolled in the province's public schools.This centennial medallion was distributed in a small velvet bag.
