Comment
Brown: These medals were distributed to children in Windsor, eight of whom had been clothed by H.M. The Queen for the celebration and went in procession from the Town Hall to Windsor parish church. Their medals were pierced and hung round their necks on an orange ribbon, they also wore a Garter blue ribbon in their hats with the inscription 'LONG LIVE THE KING'. The reverse inscription is a corruption of a phrase used by Thurlow during a speech in the House of Commons: "God forget me when I forget my sovereign". There are slight variations in the size of the medals.
