Comment

"In 1899, Orville and Wilbur Wright began a pioneering effort that brought them again to the sandy, windswept flats of Kitty Hawk on December 17, 1903. It was too windy to fly that day, but the brothers wanted to be home by Christmas. Men from the Life Saving Station ready the machine while Orville took his place on the wing. The engine whipped the propellers around and moved the aircraft down the rail. Wilbur ran along side to steady the wing until he was left behind on the ground. It was the dawn of the Age of aviation...Conceived by Genius, Achieved by Dauntless Resolution and Unconquerable Faith."
