Comment
Queen Wilhelmina's reign started in 1890 upon the death of her father. However, since she was only 10 years-old at the time, her mother was named regent until the young Wilhelmina came of age.On 6 September 1898, she was formally inaugurated as monarch in accordance with the principles of Dutch law. This medal commemorates that event. Dutch monarchs are not crowned and no Royal Regalia is bestowed upon them, hence this being an inauguration rather than a coronation.
