Comment
There is a lot of confusion in the Waterloo area regarding the name of the type wagon on this medal. They were originally made in Pennsylvania, and named for the Conestoga river there. When the first settlers came to what us now Waterloo region, they named their new home in honour of the area from whence they came, replacing the a at the end of the name with an o. Whether this was accidental or deliberate is unknown.
