"The Velvet Cave in Valkenburg is one of the oldest and most beautiful caves in the Netherlands. The Velvet Cave is the tunnel system under the castle ruins and is closely linked to the rich history of Valkenburg Castle. The Velvet Cave probably dates back to the 11th or 12th century. The cave is open almost every day and is one of the top attractions of Limburg.
