Comment
The reverse displays a group of the founders. Leonard Calvert is shown holding the instructions of Lord Baltimore, and on his right and behind him is the first historian of the colony, Rev. Andrew White, S. J., and the colorful figure of Captain Thomas Cornwallis. On Lord Baltimore’s left the colors are being presented, and an Indian is crouched in the foreground, with the ARK depicted in the distance.
