When the earth was in darkness; When it was always night, the powerful who lived in heaven gathered to create the Sun and there was light on Earth. They met in a city called Teotihuacán that was in heaven, and from which the city of Teotihuacán that is in Mexico was like a shadow or a reflection.

In that celestial city of Teotihuacán they lit a huge bonfire. That powerful one who wanted to become the Sun, should throw himself in that bonfire and burn in it. From it would become the sun.

There were two who wanted to do it. One was big, strong, beautiful and rich. He was dressed in fancy clothes and adorned with precious stones. He offered his companions gold and jewelry, samples of his pride.

The other was tiny, weak, ugly and poor; His skin was covered with sores. He was dressed in his work clothes. As he was poor, he could only offer the blood of his heart, his good and humble feelings. When it was time to throw himself into the huge bonfire, the big rich man did not dare, he was afraid and ran away.

Then the ugly little boy, who was very brave, threw himself at the stake. In it he burned and left her turned into the Sun. When the other saw him, he felt shame and also threw himself at the stake. It burned in it and another sun appeared in the sky.

The powerful agreed that there could be no suns in the sky, so they decided to turn off the second, which had been created by the big and strong warrior. They took a rabbit by the legs and threw it with great force against the second Sun. Its brightness diminished immediately and it became the Moon. That is why to date, on the Moon we can see the figure of the rabbit that ended its light.
