This is one of two official medals (marketed as a coin) commemorating the State of Maine's bicentennial in 2020. In addition to this medal made in brass, a second, limited edition (500 numbered pieces) were made in nickel and featured the same design as the brass pieces. The medal was designed by Bradley Sawyer and Kristen Schulze Muszynski with input from the Maine2020 Marketing Subcommitte.
