Gold spot of reverse and obverse of a 1970 Sixpence with floral arch on left. Britannia on right is seated facing right with Union Jack shield below her and her trident in her left hand. To the right of her legs is a sailing ship and to her left a lighthouse, evoking the standard reverse of the One Penny. A large colourised Union Jack is behind Britannia.

Comment

This is part of a nine-coin series produced by Windsor Mint commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of Decimalisation in 2021. Each coin features a pre-Decimal (£sd) denomination, dated to the last year each was produced. The series is displayed in a cushioned wooden box with an overall certificate of authenticity for the series, as well as individual certificates for each coin.
