This medal was one of the two that bear witness on the Queen's anger at the way in which Sweden's ally during the Thirty Years War, the King of France, fulfilled his promises; and his reluctance to still pay the subsidies contingent, in consequence of which Sweden was left alone and had to rely on its own forces.
