Comment

Olivier de Serres is a French agronomist, author of the vast treatise Théâtre d'Agriculture et mesnage des champs, which saw 19 reissues from 1600 to 1675. He studied agricultural techniques scientifically and sought to improve them through experimentation. From this point of view, he is considered the father of French agronomy.
