The Pucell Pavilion and the North Dome. AKA the Athletic & Convocation Center.
Romy Hammes, 1900-1981, was an entrepreneur and humanitarian. He started his successful business carrier when he purchased the 1st of 5 Ford Dealerships in 1926. He expanded his business holding which later spand 5 different states. Banks, Hotels and other retail business were added to his portfolio. He made countless contributions to schools and the Catholic Church. Romy and Dorothy Hammes received the highest homas the Catholic Church can give to laymen: "The honor of Knight of St. Gregory". For their contributions and support of the church. Romy is 1 of less than 100 men awarded this honor. Romy Hammes was feature in Life Magazine, at the very least twice in his life time. The Humanitarian spirt was carried on through his children and grand children. Three descendants of Romy Hammes graduated from the university of Notre Dame. Two buildings at the university are named after the Hammes family in honor of their numerous contributions. This token includes an image of the Pucell Pavilion and the North Dome located east of the Notre Dame stadium.
