This commemorative medal is dedicated to a self-governing scientific organization whose main task is to provide scientific support for the development of agroindustrial sectors. The history of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine dates back to 1 November 1918, when the Agricultural Scientific Committee of Ukraine was created. By its institutional arrangements, human resources, and objectives, the committee had all the trappings of a full-fledged academic institution. Academician Volodymyr Vernadskyi made a direct contribution to the establishment of this institution.
