Comment
This commemorative medal was minted by the Turkish Numismatic Society for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic.
Turkish Numismatic Society (TND) is the numismatics association founded on 9 May 1968 in Turkey. The main purpose of TND is to develop coin collecting in Turkey and to take initiative in all kinds of organizations and activities in this direction.
The slogan 'Yurtta sulh, cihanda sulh' means 'Peace at home, peace in the world' in Turkish. The slogan was first pronounced by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on 20 April 1931 to the public during his tours of Anatolia. This stance was later integrated and implemented as the foreign policy of the Republic of Turkey.
