Medal from the Midland Counties Industrial Exhibition held at Derby, Derbyshire, United Kingdom.Engraver was James Andrew Restall (sculptor/medallist; British; Male; 1859-1938). Die sinker and medallist of Birmingham, partner in the firm of J. A. Restall & Co silversmiths and medallists. He was active between 1887 - 1906 dates. Born in Birmingham. Son of William Restall (born c.1832 in Chalford, Gloucestershire), timber merchant. He seems not to have started in his occupation until he was in his twenties, perhaps because his father seems to have run a successful business - and therefore the pressure to take up an occupation was reduced. Restall became a master silversmith, jeweller and medallist running his own business in Birmingham from about 1891. In the early 1930s his occupation was given as 'manufacturing jeweller'. Some medals he made came in a box with lettering 'J A RESTALL JEWELLER SILVERSMITH & MEDALLIST 82, CAMBRIDGE STREET BIRMINGHAM' thereon.
Link below is for another medal made by Restall.
