Mr. Benevenuti, 79, of Germantown, worked on canvas and in marble, bronze and terra-cotta. He especially liked sculpting with Belgian black marble combined with stainless steel. His works are in private collections and were exhibited here and in Italy and France. Locally, he had shows at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford and at the Wayne Art Center, he also designed collectibles for the Franklin Mint."Gianni was something of a force of nature, and his work reflected that, whether it was sculpture, painting, prints or political cartoons," said Thora Jacobson, executive director of the Fleisher Art Memorial in Philadelphia.
