Medal commemorating the liberation of France on September 10, 1944, engraved by Auguste Trémont and produced by Maison Arthus Bertrand in Paris. The artist had begun work in Paris in 1943, and the first pieces were struck in 1944. The medals were put up for sale in 1945 in aid of the Oeuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte. Maison Arthus Bertrand had 300 bronze and 150 silver medals struck.

Plaster matrix of the reverse, on display at the
medals cabinet of the MNHA in Luxembourg-City.

* A larger number were subsequently struck by Maison J. Fonson of Brussels (bronze and silver, exact mintage unknown). These coins are characterized by the "FONSON" hallmark on the edge.
