Comment
“La Société des Artisans Canadiens-Français” was an association of benevolence and relief mutual between Catholic French-Canadian artisans. Founded under the name of “Société des artisans Canadiens-Français de la cité de Montréal”, it successively became “La Société des artisans Canadiens-Français” (1899), then “La Societé des Artisans” (1946), and finally “Les Artisans, société coopérative d’assurance-vie " (1972). The organization merged in 1980 with “Les Coopérants”, a mutual life insurance company to form “Les Coopérants”.
