The medal was registered in the Guinness World Records book as the biggest medal in 2008 after breaking the record set in 1986 for the Canadian Medal. It took a team of 85 dedicated staff to complete the unique masterpiece within just 30 days. It was presented as a souvenir to the patron of the award H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of launching the award.
