Comment
Brown: This medal was personally ordered by Henry on the occasion of the death of his father James III and although it is by an Italian artist and therefore logically outside the scope of this book, it has been deemed appropriate to include it for the sake of completeness. The issue in the year his father died probably refers to Henry's intention not to maintain a claim for succession to the crown of Great Britain but to remain a dignitary of the Church of Rome.
