Correspondence with Harrisburg Coin Club 10-4-2024
In 1969:the club produced 1500 bronze and 400 silver (300 numbered) medals
Back then the selling price for the Bronze were $1 and silver $6, what a bargain!
According to the ’69 show booklet years ’63 (first year made) through ‘69 were struck by Spacecraft Medals Inc. I believe later years were struck by Medallic Art. The last bronze we produced in 2022 for our 60th anniversary show was mfg by "Coins for Anything". You can see all our medals on our website www.harrisburgcoinclub.com.
Our club no longer has any 1969 bronze left to sell.-- How "rare" they are is hard to tell as probably many were designated to a junk drawer and eventually tossed out.
Prior to my involvement in the club it was decided to "melt" any of the silver medals left. So we no longer have any of those. And to be honest the club itself does not have a full set of the bronze and silver medals. That is something I complain about to this day. Why on earth didn't the club have a complete set. We even had Dansco make a special album that had Harrisburg Coin Club Medals as the title on the album.
I hope this helps you out!
