Comment
The Union National Museum is located in the historic city of Alba Iulia and is dedicated to archaeology, history, ethnography and art. The archaeological collections include ceramics, tools and weapons, ornaments and sculptures from prehistory, antiquity and the Middle Ages, respectively. Among them are the finds of from the former Dacian fortresses of Craiva, Cugir and Căpâlna and the Roman city center of Apulum.Historical collections include folk art collections, including textiles, ceramics, icons painted on wood and glass, as well as everyday tools and objects, as well as collections of documents, photographs and numismatic exhibitions.
The museum is located in two historic buildings. The first was built in the mid-nineteenth century in the Romantic style as a residential pavilion for officers. The second one dates from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and initially served as a military casino.
