Comment
Brown: The "Patrons of the Anniversary meeting" referred to are the "Society of Patrons of the Anniversary of the Charity Schools". The general meeting of the Patrons at which it was decided to order this medal resolved to present a specimen in gold to the value of 20 guineas to a Mr Robert Peckwood the Treasurer, as a token of their gratitude for his "invariable attention to the interest of the Society. It f was also resolved to present a silver specimen to John Robinson the Secretary. No other gold medals were struck in order that the compliment to the Treasurer may be the greater". The other members of the Committee were able to purchase a specimen in silver at their own expense.
