Translation: Medals of the Kings of England from William the First to these very times, dedicated to George II, the most serene King of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, &c, by Jean Dassier, engraver of coins to the Republic of Geneva, 1731
Comment
Brown: This was the dedicatory medal of the series of medals of English Sovereigns by Jean Dassier, a native of Geneva. They were published by subscription at six guineas the set of thirty-three medals in copper, and at fifteen guineas in silver. They are tolerably well executed, but the portraits bear but little resemblance to the originals.
